Blameshift : the name. You know it. You've heard it before. You love it. Maybe you eat it(not reccomend) or sleep it(reccomended Laughing )

There's a lot behind this name and what it means. Check it out...

...Blameshift's origins begin on Long Island, in some random city, in some random suburb. Tim and James, after meeting one another through a mutual friend, along with Tim's best friend and former Blameshift guitar player Scott were looking to rent a house so that they could jam out in whenever they wanted. While scouting for houses, a landlord suggested they meet with his next door neighbor, Jenny who was a singer. They agreed, and Jenny came down to the rehearsal spot a few days later, and the magic started happening.

Fast forward a few months, and with their line-up solidified(for the time being) they were to play their first show. They needed a name, and decided upon Negative James, reflecting James' often not-so-sunny disposition(for the time being), but soon dropped that. They needed a better name. A name with less syllables. A name with less letters. A SHORTER NAME !!

The name 'Blameshift' came about as a result of the many petty and redundant arguments that a band often and forever will have(like choosing a name), shifting blame onto one another to avoid looking foolish. Never before in the history of naming bands has a group of people lived up to their moniker so well.

But it also reflects a great many other thing: a time in our ever-changing government and foreign policy; who dipped their weiner in the peanut-butter ?; who drank the last beer ? All examples of finger-pointing and 'blameshifting'. Really, it could be applied to anything. Try it at home !

So it is with great exhiliaration and poor grammer that we have forever proclaimed ourselves Blameshift, and are now entering our 3rd or 4rth year, depending on who tells the story. Either way, thats the story, and I'm sticking to it.
